What were the challenges?
We were appointed by an educational organisation, which includes a world-renowned independent school, over 20 years ago. During this time, we have worked with the client to develop an innovative and much-copied business model that draws heavily on best practice from the commercial sector.
How did we overcome these challenges?
By bringing together innovative thinking from both the not for profit and commercial arenas, we devised and implemented a new structure for the client - comprising schools, a fundraising charity and two trading subsidiaries – to best support its mission and objectives.
What impact did we have?
We ensure that the client and its constituents operate as effectively as possible by advising on measures to increase revenue and identifying opportunities to reduce outgoings. We provide joined-up advice across the range of disciplines on matters such as implementing the new Charity SORP, the introduction of a total return policy, accounting for the organisation’s defined benefit scheme, and the optimal tax treatment of overseas employees.
